Ģertrūdes ielas teātris

“Report from the Interior” is a poetic installation and performance inspired by museum dioramas*, which portray apparently natural scenes from the animal kingdom. The production uses the pictorial nature of the theatre medium to explore dioramas as a metaphor for the human longing to understand and organize the world around them. The mountain landscapes created by colour and nature are locked in a box, frozen in time, thus offering a view into another world. The observer is seemingly at a safe distance, separated by a glass wall. But what happens when they become part of the diorama, part of a foreign order over which they have no control?
